Siliguri, 13th May: A tragic incident unfolded in the Fakdaibari area of Dabgram teenager drowned while fishing with his friends at a pond in Lalitabari village under Mantadari Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block. The deceased has been identified as Jeet Das (16).
As per reports, on Sunday, Jeet and two of his friends arrived near the pond with the intent to go fishing and eventually dived into the water. During this, Jeet suddenly drowned in the water due to unknown circumstances. Upon hearing the cries of his companions, the locals rushed to the spot and rescued the teen. However, the teenager could not be saved.
Later, in the morning, the law enforcement of the Bhorer Alo police station arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Following this, the body was transferred to Jeet’s residence. Meanwhile, Jeet’s grieving family alleged their son was murdered by his companions. The entire incident is currently under further investigation.
