138th Foundation Day of National Congress observed in Siliguri

Siliguri, 28th December: Today marked the 138th foundation day of the National Congress. National Congress Foundation Day was observed in different parts of the country as well as in Siliguri. Today, Foundation Day was celebrated ceremonially in the district office of Congress located at Hashmi Chowk, Siliguri. On this occasion, District Congress President Shankar Malakar unfurled the Congress Party flag.


During this, apart from youth leaders, Shahnawaz Hussain and Rohit Tiwari, Jeevan Majumdar, Rajesh Yadav, Tapan Paine, Sadanand Das, Gopal Sarkar, Ruma Nath were also present.

On this occasion, District President Shankar Malakar said that the history of India is rooted in the history of Congress. Congress has contributed a lot to the development of the country. He added that the country reached freedom because of the brave fighters of Congress. He further alleged of the present government made India a slave again. At the same time, he said that today when Rahul Gandhi is travelling under ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in a fight to save the country, various tactics were being adopted to stop him. He added however, the common people have shown their support and stance for Rahul Gandhi.
