Siliguri, 26th January: A 12th standard student committed suicide in the Jyotinagar area of Siliguri. The incident created a shadow of mourning in the area. The deceased has been identified as Somnath Saha.
As per the information, the deceased was a student of Siliguri Boys High School. The mourning family assumed that their son committed suicide out of mental depression.
According to family sources, Somnath was found hanging from a noose in the evening. Following which, the police were informed. The police reached the spot shortly after, recovered the body, and sent it to North Bengal Medical College Hospital for an autopsy. The body was brought home on Wednesday afternoon. The whole area is mourning the death of the meritorious student.
The deceased’s father Subir Saha said that Somnath used to be always concerned about his studies. He assumed that his son committed suicide out of mental depression.
On the other hand, the deceased’s friend Hrishiraj Bhawal said that Somnath stopped going to tuition and was studying at home. Little did they know such an incident would follow in a few days.
