Fulbari, 07th July: The 125-day employment work under the central government’s rural employment scheme, ‘Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajivika Mission (Gramin)’ (VB-G RAM G), has started in Fulbari.
The scheme was earlier known as the 100-day work programme or MGNREGA and was recently renamed as VB-G RAM G. The state government had earlier announced the start of the 125-day employment programme.
The launch of the scheme has brought renewed hope among rural workers, with a sense of enthusiasm spreading across the area after work officially began.
On Tuesday, a community storm water drain construction project was started in the Fulbari-II Gram Panchayat area, connecting Purba Dhantala High School to the Jorapani River. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1,48,835.
The project was inaugurated with the participation of 26 rural workers. The work officially began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and coconut breaking ritual.
The inauguration programme was attended by Gram Panchayat member Uttam Sarkar, social worker Rahul Barman, Gram Panchayat Pradhan Rafiqul Islam, Surya Mallick, Mamani Das, Meenu Roy and others.
