12-foot-long king cobra rescued in Nagrakata

Nagrakata, 14th August: Sensation prevailed after a 12-foot-long king cobra was recovered from a house near Kargil More under Jhalong police station in Kalimpong district.


It has been learned that the Cobra was spotted at the house of Amit Sharma, a resident of the aforementioned area, on Friday morning. Following which, the Khuniya Forest Department was informed. The forest workers reached the spot and rescued the snake.

Rajkumar Layek, an official of the Khuniya Wildlife Branch, stated that the rescued King Cobra was later released into the forests.
