11-foot long python rescued in Dhupguri

Dhupguri, 08th August: A 11-foot long python was rescued from the Kurshamari village in Dhupguri block. The incident created a stir in the entire area.


The locals spotted the python tangled inside a nylon net on Sunday morning and informed the forest department. However, the locals alleged that despite notifying the department, non of the forest worker showed up to rescue the python.

Following this, Dhupguri’s environmentalist organization Dooars Nature and Snake Lovers Organization was then informed. Upon receiving the news, the members of the organization immediately reached the spot and rescued the python. After initial treatment, the python was released in Moraghat forest.
