Alipurduar, 12th July: A youth succumbed to death by drowning while bathing with his friends in the river. The deceased has been identified as Rahul Majumdar and is said to be a resident of Shanti Nagar in Alipurduar.
Reportedly, the youth along with four of his friends went to take bath in Nonai River. Rahul was swept away by the current of the river while taking bath. With the help of locals, Rahul was rescued and rushed to the nearest railway hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
