Kalchini, 06th October: A youth died in a road accident on the night of Dashami in the Subhashini area of Hasimara of Kalchini block. The deceased youth has been identified as Subhdeep Paul (27), a resident of Nimati Chowpathy in Kalchini block.
According to local sources, Shubhdeep was going from Nimti to Madarihat on Wednesday night. A vehicle hit him in the Subhashini area of Hasimara leaving him seriously injured. With the help of locals, he was rescued and taken to Hasimara Air Force Hospital. From there, Shubhdeep was referred to Uttar Latabari Rural Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
The body was sent to Alipurduar District Hospital for a post-mortem on Thursday. Police have started an investigation into the entire incident.
