Fulbari, 20th June: A youth allegedly involved in selling narcotics was apprehended by local residents in the Fulbari market area on Friday night and later handed over to the police.
According to local sources, the youth was reportedly selling small packets of brown sugar to drivers of various vehicles in the market area. His suspicious movements and activities attracted the attention of locals, who detained him and began questioning him.
As news of the incident spread, a large number of people gathered at the spot. BJP leader Motiur Rahman also reached the location after being informed about the matter.
Subsequently, the New Jalpaiguri police station was notified. Police personnel, accompanied by central forces, arrived at the scene, took the youth into custody, and brought him to the police station for further investigation.
