Siliguri, 25th November: A youth has been arrested for possessing a huge quantity of illegal drug injections in Siliguri’s Babupara area. The police of Siliguri police station acting promptly based on a tip-off went undercover and apprehended the said youth by launching a campaign. The youth has been identified as Sujan Das (20).
Reportedly on Thursday evening, Sujan Das reached the deserted lane of Babupara’s Anand Mohan Bose Road to deliver the drug consignment but before he could deliver the injections the police nabbed him. However, the person who had come to take the banned narcotic injection fled away after seeing the police.
The police have recovered 300 pieces of intoxicant injections in three packets from Sujan’s possession whose market value has been estimated from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh. Meanwhile, the Siliguri police registered a case under the NDPS Act against the accused Suman Das, and produced him in the Siliguri court. The police are probing the entire matter.
