Siliguri, 12th April: Pradhan Nagar police arrested 20-year-old Rehan Alam of Gunjaria Bazar in Islampur, who was spotted roaming in the Junction area with a firearm last night. Police recovered a country-made pistol and one round of live cartridges from his possession.
According to police sources, Alam had reached Siliguri from Islampur with the firearm. He was suspiciously roaming in the BD Market of Junction. Allegedly, Rehan also tried to rob several vendors at gunpoint. Police registered a case against the accused Rehan for illegally possessing weapons and presented him in the Siliguri court today.
