Fulbari, 29th January: NJP police have arrested a youth in connection with a theft in a residence located in Fulbari. The accused has been identified as Ajay Mandal.
It is to be noted that on January 17, a house located in West Dhantal under Fulbari No. 2 Gram Panchayat was burgled. The owner of the house, Mithu Saha, along with his family had gone to a wedding ceremony in Barsoi, Bihar. The miscreants had carried out the crime by taking advantage of the vacant house. When the owner returned home, he learned about the burglary in the house. The thieves had got away with gold jewellery worth lakhs of rupees and Rs 80,000 in cash.
However, a complaint was lodged at the NJP police station after the incident. Based on the complaint, the police involved in the investigation arrested Ajay Mandal from West Dhantala on Saturday. According to police sources, the accused youth has been accused of several criminal acts. Today the accused has been produced in the Jalpaiguri court. Police are trying to recover the stolen goods.
