Naxalbari, 25th May: In a significant development, SSB personnel successfully apprehended Rohit Ekka, a resident of Belgachi in Naxalbari, for being in possession of a deer horn. The arrest took place today following a targeted operation conducted by the Madan Jote Company of SSB’s 41st Battalion near Naxalbari’s Atal Tea Estate on Asian Highway-2.
Acting on a tip-off, the SSB personnel swiftly carried out the operation and detained the individual. During the subsequent search, they discovered a deer horn in his possession. Following the arrest, Rohit Ekka was handed over to the Bagdogra Forest Department for further legal proceedings.
Today, the accused was produced before the Siliguri Divisional Court, while the Forest Department has initiated a thorough investigation into the entire incident.
