Siliguri, 07th June: As the second wave of COVID-19 has hit the nation hard and there is hardly anyone who is untouched by this pandemic in one or the other manner. Apart from adhering to COVID Appropriate Protocols like using Masks, Maintain Social Distancing & Sanitization of Hands, mass vaccination of the people all across the nation is one of the prime defences against the deadly virus which has caused huge damage to the economy as well as individuals.
With vaccination slots getting booked in minutes for private centres, it was becoming a tough task for many to get the vaccine done. Hence, YI Siliguri initiated a Mass Vaccination Drive in association with Siliguri Terai Lions Blood Centre & Medica Cancer Hospitals for its members, their family members and employees wherein 500 doses were administered to them.
As a token of appreciation, YI offered around 100 slots to members of social organisations who are serving society relentlessly by assisting COVID patients with blood requirements, free meals or dry ration across the region.
