Alipurduar, 22nd September: World Rhino Day was celebrated at Madarihat Jaldapara NIC in Alipurduar district. DFO Deepak M of Jaldapara, forest officials, and other forest workers were present at the programme.
In this regard, the DFO of Jaldapara Deepak M said that the number of rhinos in the Jaldapara Sanctuary has increased. He urged the locals to come forward and help the forest workers in protecting and preventing the deaths of rhinos. The DFO further advised all to inform the forest department if they see any suspicious persons or poachers in the area.
