Fulbari, 06th July: In a tragic incident, a woman was found dead inside her residence at Rajib Para under Fulbari II Gram Panchayat. The deceased has been identified as Sumita Roy Barman.
According to family sources, a minor altercation reportedly took place between the husband and wife on Saturday evening, following which the husband left the house. When he returned after some time and entered the room, he found his wife hanging.
Upon receiving information, police from New Jalpaiguri Police Station reached the spot and rushed the woman to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Police are investigating whether the incident was the result of family discord or if there was any other reason behind the death. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
