Siliguri, 18th March: Sensation prevailed in the area of Matigara after a woman was arrested for operating a drug business from a residence. The said woman peddling cannabis across Siliguri shops.
Reportedly, she used to make small packets of cannabis inside the house and sell it all over the city. But the undercover police of Matigara police station exposed the drug dealing going on inside the house. The accused has been identified as Jagtar Sahni (50), a resident of Suitki Godown who is also the mastermind behind the dealings. Jagtar Sahni had opened a cannabis factory inside her house and used to get cannabis from outside and used to make small packets of it in her house and sell it in the Siliguri market.
She was considered a distributor of cannabis in Siliguri. As soon as the news was received, the cops launched a campaign last night at Jagtar Sahni’s house and caught her while she was preparing packets of cannabis. A total of 12 kg of cannabis has been recovered from her house and cops arrested her by registering a case under the NDPS Act in the presence of Deputy Executive Magistrate Shantanu Tarafdar. Today the accused has been produced in the Siliguri court. The police are probing the entire matter.
