Wild elephants on rampage in Alipurduar, several houses, shops destroyed

Alipurduar, 17th July: Wild elephants created a ruckus in the Nandala Line and Panu Line areas of Tasati Tea Garden in Alipurduar district.


According to local sources, three elephants entered the area around 12.30 on Friday night and went on a rampage, destroying the houses of 10 families. The elephants damaged the residences and ransacked many shops in the area. They gobbled on the food items kept inside people’s homes. The villagers are in severe distress after the incident.
