Siliguri, 04th January: Special steps have been taken by the GRP concerning the issue of stone pelting at ‘Vande Bharat Express’. IC, OC of GRP of each station of North Bengal have been added to the said WhatsApp group. The work of the people involved in the group will be to share the status information immediately after Vande Bharat crosses from any station.
As soon as Vande Bharat commenced, stones were pelted at the glass door of the train on Monday near Malda’s Kumarganj station. After this, stones were pelted on the entry of NJP again on Tuesday.
GRP SP S Selva Murugan said that a WhatsApp group has been created where stations will be informed to the group only after the Vande Bharat Express passes by. At the same time, the GRP will also investigate both incidents. Adding to this, he added that along with RPF, GRP personnel will also go to Howrah from NJP in Vande Bharat Express to ensure protection from any untoward mishaps like last two incidents.
