Wednesday’s Bharat Bandh: CPI(M)’s state leader arrested for picketing in support of the strike in Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri, 8th January: A state CPI(M) leader, former MP Minti Sen, and other female workers were arrested in front of the Jalpaiguri PWD office while picketing in support of the strike today.


The Jalpaiguri Kotwali Police arrested them based on the complaints received from the PWD office employees. It is alleged that the bandh supporters tried to stop the employees forcibly.

On the other hand, CPI(M) leader Durba Banerjee denied all the allegations made against them and further blamed the PWD office members for harassing them.
