Nagrakata, 26th June: Forest Minister Rajib Bhattacharya, on Friday, inaugurated a watchtower at Khunia Protection Camp of North Gorumara Wildlife Division in Nagrakata.
Apart from the Minister, MLA Sukra Munda, DFO Nisa Goswami, Khunia and Chalsa Ranger as well as the forest workers were present during the event.
As per the report, the said tower has been equipped with CCTV cameras to monitor every move that happens in the Khunia Protection Camp.
Addressing the media, Forest Minister Rajib Bhattacharya stated that since several instances of wildlife and cattle smuggling have emerged from the area over the past few years, the installation of a watchtower with CCTV camera facilities was initiated to keep a watch on animals and the smugglers as well.
