Siliguri, 20th January: On Saturday, Ward Utsav ‘Naboday’ commenced in Ward No. 1 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). On the first day of the festival, a grand procession was carried out under the leadership of Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Chairman Pratul Chakraborty, and Ward Councillor Sanjay Pathak.
Reportedly, the procession started from Siliguri Junction and circumambulated various areas of the entire ward.
Speaking at the occasion, Ward Councillor Sanjay Pathak stated that the festival ‘Naboday’ has commenced from this day which is scheduled to continue till January 27. He added that the Utsav displayed a message of unity among diverse communities.
