Voters in Alipurduar wade through knee-deep water to cast their votes

Alipurduar, 08th July: Panchayat elections are underway in the state today, but reports of unrest have emerged from various locations. However, a striking scene has unfolded at Bholardabri Damanpur Basic Primary School in Alipurduar Block-1. Here, voters were spotted standing in knee-deep water to exercise their right to vote.

The school premises have been flooded due to heavy rainfall yesterday. Despite the challenging circumstances, polling is taking place at booth number 12/163 and 12/164 in this center. With no drainage system in the area, voters were compelled to cast their votes while standing in knee-deep water since the morning. It is alleged that the sector officer has been absent despite the situation persisting throughout the day.
