Rajganj, 22nd July: After a gap of nearly four years, work under the central government’s rural employment scheme, Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) or VB-G RAM G, has resumed in Rajganj.
The project was officially launched on Wednesday at Chakiabhita area near Sahudangi under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat in Rajganj block. Rajganj BDO Suvankar Das inaugurated the work by cutting a ribbon and breaking a coconut.
The event was attended by Rajganj Panchayat Samiti members Nitai Mondal, Somnath Soren, Ajay Adhikari, along with other public representatives and administrative officials.
The first work initiated under the scheme was the construction of a community stormwater drain from Tapan Roy’s shop to the house of Pabidul Haque. The estimated cost of the project is ₹1,14,434.
Earlier known as the 100 Days Work scheme, the programme was recently renamed VB-G RAM G. After a long gap, the return of the employment scheme has brought relief among local residents in Rajganj.
