Union Minister of State Nisith Pramanik’s father’s name in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, TMC raised voice in Cooch Behar

Cooch Behar, 18th December: The Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik’s father’s name in the list of the housing scheme project raises several questions from the opposition. TMC Vice President and Cooch Behar Municipality Chairman Rabindranath Ghosh condemned the matter.

Reportedly, the name of Vidhubhushan Pramanik, a resident of Kharija Baladanga of Bhetaguri is in the Awas Yojana scheme list. Cooch Behar Municipality Chairman Rabindranath Ghosh stated in a press conference that the BJP is agitating against every political leader and activist in the entire state by making various allegations regarding the names in the housing scheme list. However, while the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs has a luxurious house, Nisith’s father’s name is on the scheme’s list. He added that many people did not have pucca houses when the survey was conducted about six years ago but by this time many people have improved their social status and their names are also on the list despite having a house now. This raises many questions about the credibility of the scheme as the privileged ones are already taking full advantage whereas the deserving ones are not even there on the list.

However, there has been no response from the Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik or his family in this regard. Cooch Behar District BJP President Sukumar Roy said that the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs himself can give houses to the beneficiaries. Hence his father’s name has been kept on the list under a ruse. He further accused of TMC and Panchayat members of plotting a conspiracy as their names are on the list.
