Union Minister Nisith Pramanik appeared before Alipurduar Court in connection with a 14-year-old theft case

Alipurduar, 10th January: Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik appeared in the Alipurduar court today. In November last year, the court issued an arrest warrant against him in connection with the thefts in two gold shops. In regard to the case, the Minister appeared in court today. 


It is to be noted that in the year 2009, there was a theft from two gold shops in Alipurduar city, in relation to the case a nomination report was lodged against the Union Minister of State for Home at Alipurduar police station. After Nisith Pramanik became an MP in 2019, the said case was transferred to the Barasat MP court, but later the Calcutta High Court issued an order to send the case again to the Alipurduar Lower Court based on a special application by Nisith Pramanik. The matter was listed for hearing on November 11, but as no lawyer appeared for Nisith Pramanik, the court issued an arrest warrant against the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs. 

Today Union Minister Nisith Pramanik appeared in the Alipurduar court, a huge police corps and BJP workers-supporters were present on the court premises.
