Phanisdewa, 23rd December: Stir ensued in the area after a body of an unidentified person was recovered from Fulbari’s Mahananda Barrage.
Reportedly, today the locals found the dead body of the said person at No. 7 lockgate of Fulbari Mahananda barrage. On being notified, the Phansidewa police and disaster management team reached the spot and recovered the body after about an hour’s effort.
According to police sources, the age of the deceased is about 50 years. It is presumed that the body could be 15 days old. However, as of now, the identity of the deceased has not been ascertained. Police recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. The police are probing the entire incident.
