Fulbari, 06th June: Two youths had a narrow escape after their scooty met with an accident while they were on their way to the hills. The incident took place on Saturday morning near Jatiakali More along the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway in Fulbari.
According to reports, the two youths, residents of Maynaguri, were travelling on a scooty towards the hills via Siliguri. As they reached near Jatiakali More, the front wheel of the scooty reportedly skidded, causing the rider to lose control. Both occupants were thrown off to the side of the road.
Eyewitnesses claimed that a heavy goods vehicle coming from behind ran over the scooty after the accident. As a result, the front portion of the vehicle was completely damaged.
However, both riders escaped serious injury as they had already been thrown clear of the vehicle’s path, preventing a major tragedy.
Upon receiving information, police from the Fulbari Highway Traffic Outpost and New Jalpaiguri Police Station rushed to the spot. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
