Siliguri, 03rd February: The undercover cops of Matigara police station arrested two youths on Thursday night with banned cough syrup. The arrested youths have been identified as MD Taijul and Neeraj Thapa, both are residents of Matigara Bishwas Colony.
According to police sources, last night, the duo had reached Paribahan Nagar to sell the drugs. The police grew suspicious of them and intercepted the two. On conducting a search, about 50 bottles of banned cough syrup were recovered from the youths’ bags.
After this, MD Taijul and Neeraj Thapa were arrested by the cops after registering a case under the NDPS Act in the presence of the Police Executive Magistrate of Matigara Police Station. The police of Matigara police station today produced both the accused in the Siliguri court.
