Rajganj, 20th December: Two women were seriously injured after being buried in the soil while fetching soil from the pit of the pipeline. The said incident surfaced today in Laxmijamadargach area under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat of Rajganj.
Reportedly, after the incident, both were rescued and sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. It has been told that the work of digging a gas pipeline is going on in Laxmijamadargachh area of Rajganj. Today three women from Balram Power Grid area went to collect soil from the pit of the pipeline when accidentally two of the women got stuck in. Hearing the screams of the other woman, the people around reached the spot and after a lot of effort pulled both women out.
Residents told that a pit has been dug for a long time for the gas pipeline. Even after laying the pipeline, it has not been closed immediately. Women of the area come to get the soil for making a gas fire for their households. Even today the women came to collect the soil when the accident took place. The locals also pointed to the possibility of children getting buried in the said pit while playing citing to close the pit at the earliest.
