Jalpaiguri, 06th July: Two third-year students of Pharmacy College in Jalpaiguri have been arrested on charges of drunk driving and misbehaving with police personnel.
According to police sources, the incident took place during a routine vehicle checking drive at Post Office More in Jalpaiguri, where a car was intercepted. The driver and his companion were allegedly found in an inebriated condition.
It is further alleged that they misbehaved with on-duty police personnel during the checking process. Following this, both students were detained and taken to the police station, where they were later arrested.
Police said the arrested students are residents of Jhargram and Bankura and are currently studying in the third year at the college. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
