Two shops gutted in a fire days before Durga Puja in Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 06th September: Only a few weeks are left for the Durga Puja and preparations are going on in full swing across the nation and the state. The Durgotsav has multiple features that aim to increase excitement and fun among people, and one of them is shopping for new clothes and other items.


In view of this, businesspeople tend to store stocks of goods to meet the demands during the festive season. However, sensation prevailed after a fire broke out in the Dhulagaon market area of ​​Falakata block. Reportedly, two shops, including a ration and clothes stores, caught fire late Mondy night. The fire tenders from Falakata fire department rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was reported. After hours of effort, the blaze was brought under control. But the two shops were completely gutted in the fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. 

After the incident, the traders are now staring at a huge loss. According to shop owner Ranjit Mitra, he closed the shop last night and went home. He said that he arrived at the scene this morning after the local people reported that there was a fire in the shop.
