Siliguri, 21st March: Matigara Police arrested two men with a substantial amount of drugs from the Palpara area, late Saturday night. The arrested have been identified as Nejaul Sheikh and Shah Jahan Sheikh, residents of Farakka.
According to the information, both accused had come to Siliguri from Kaliachak, with two kilos of brown sugar, on Saturday. However, they were nabbed before they could sell the drugs to a third party in Vishwas Colony.
As per the report, the market value of the recovered brown sugar is said to be around Rs 50 lakh. The police presented both accused in Siliguri court today and are engaged in further action.
