Alipurduar, 16th November: Sensation prevailed in the Shukra Jote area of Jaigaon in Alipurduar where two minors identified as Ramit Nagasia and Bhola Barai accidentally drowned after playing along the river.
According to reports, in the morning, the two minors went to play along the river accompanied by two other friends. Subsequently, the two minors went deep into the water while fishing when they were swept away by the water. Witnessing the incident, the other two friends alerted the locals and the family members about the incident. Following this, the officials of the Jaigaon police station were promptly informed.
Upon receiving the news, the BDO of Kalchini Joydeep Chakraborty arrived at the spot along with Civil Defence personnel, and the deceased bodies of the minors were recovered by afternoon. Currently, the police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the entire incident.
