Two men posing as reporters arrested for extorting money in Siliguri

Siliguri, 12th February: Siliguri Metropolitan Police’s Bhakti Nagar police arrested two men for allegedly posing as reporters and trying to extort money from the owner of a call center company. The accused have been identified as Sayantan Saha alias Guddu and Robin Saha alias Babu. Both are residents of Siliguri. They were produced in Jalpaiguri court today.


According to the information, the duo, posed as reporters, visited the call center company in Sevoke Road last night and demanded a sum of Rs 45 lakhs from the owner of the company by threatening him. The two parties came to an understanding of Rs 3 lakh. The owner of the call centre asked the men to come to his office the following morning. 

As soon as the duo showed up at the office this morning, the police caught them red-handed. As per police sources, several alleged journalists from Siliguri are involved in the case. They have been identified as Sayantan Saha, Robin Saha, Bappa Roy and Pritam. Of these, Sayantan Saha and Robin Saha have been arrested.
