Two employees arrested for stealing 15 mobile phones from online delivery company in Siliguri

Siliguri, 19th February: Two employees of an online goods delivery company were arrested for allegedly stealing 15 mobile phones worth around ₹8 lakh, the company reported, under Pradhan Nagar Police Station limits.


The accused have been identified as Sumir Chaudhary (22), a resident of Dhaknikata, and Rohit Bhagat (24), a resident of Ward No. 03. Both were employed at the company located in Narmada Bagan.

According to police sources, the company lodged a complaint with Pradhan Nagar Police on 18th February, stating that 15 high-value mobile phones meant for customer delivery were stolen. Following the complaint, police launched an investigation and questioned all employees.


During the inquiry, suspicion fell on Sumir Chaudhary and Rohit Bhagat. Both were taken into custody for interrogation, after which they allegedly confessed to the theft. The accused have been arrested and presented before the Siliguri Court, where police sought their remand.

Police are working to recover the stolen 15 mobile phones and are investigating whether others were involved in the incident.
