Two arrested with brown sugar in Siliguri

Siliguri, 02nd November: The Special Operation Group (SOG) and the police of Ashighar Out Post arrested two people with illegal drugs from Baneswar More during a joint operation last night. The arrested accused have been identified as Shaukat Ali of Lalgola in Murshidabad and Bapi Roy, a resident of ISKCON temple area in Siliguri. 


According to SOG sources, Shaukat Ali had come from Murshidabad to deliver the brown sugar to Bap last night. Upon receiving a tip-off, the SOG team jointly with cops of Ashighar Out Post nabbed the peddlers before the drug deal could succeed. Reportedly, a total of 170 grams of brown sugar was recovered from the accused. The estimated market value of which is said to be lakhs of rupees. A case has been registered on both under the NDPS Act and they were presented in the Jalpaiguri court today.
