Two arrested in two separate theft cases in Siliguri, stolen items recovered

Siliguri, 23rd September: In a significant breakthrough, the police officials have successfully arrested two thieves and recovered the stolen items. The accused have been identified as Sujit Lama alias Tepa (26) and Sanjeev Das alias Doga (21).


Reportedly, on the night of July 23, a mobile phone was reported stolen from the home of Santosh Kumar Bhagat, a bank manager in the Dabgram area. Following a complaint lodged at the Siliguri Police Station on July 24, the incident was under investigation. After about two months, the police arrested Sujit Lama on Sunday night in the Tikiapara area. Additionally, the officers recovered the stolen mobile phone from his possession.

In a separate incident on September 13, a copper wire was stolen from the air conditioning unit at the electricity department office in the Subhash Pally area. Subsequently, a complaint was filed at the Siliguri police station, prompting an investigation. The police apprehended Sanjeev Das on Sunday night from the same area and recovered the stolen copper wire in his possession.


Both accused have been presented before the Siliguri court while the police are engaged in further investigation of both the cases.
