Siliguri, 27th June: After MLA Shikha Chatterjee allegedly second BJP MP John Barla's controversial demand seeking a separate union territory comprising North Bengal districts, the Trinamool Congress has slammed complaints against her in almost all the police stations.
Further intensifying their objection, the members of Trinamool Youth Congress staged a sit-in protest, under the leadership of TMYC leader Rani Paul, in front of the MLA's house with placards in Shanti Nagar area of Dabgram-02 Zone, today.
Addresing the issues, Rani Paul said that the party will not allow Bengal to be divided and will go to all extent to prevent it. "If such a conspiracy does not stop, then we will launch a massive agitation," Paul added.
Meanwhile, MLA Shiksha Chatterjee denied all allegations and said no one has talked about a separate state. "I only said that our North Bengal should be developed," the MLA added.
