TMC leader Goutam Deb expresses outrage over EC’s 24-hour campaigning ban on Mamata Banerjee

Siliguri, 13th April: A day after the Election Commission imposed a 24-hour ban on Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for violating the Model Code of Conduct, Tourism minister Goutam Deb made a striking remark on the electoral body.


“Election Commission imposed the ban on Trinamool Congress supremo so that the party gets lesser time to campaign” Deb state during a press conference in Siliguri on Tuesday.

Goutam Deb said that the foremost speakers of BJP including Amit Shah and Dilip Ghosh have already completed their campaign. He asserted that the EC banned Mamata Banerjee from campaigning in favour of BJP.


Deb also expressed outrage regarding why the EC is not taking strict action against several BJP leaders despite their “provocative remarks” concerning the Sitalkuchi incident.
