TMC-BJP in dilemma regarding formation of board in Rajganj’s Kukurjan Gram Panchayat

Rajganj, 16th July: Challenges uplift after the recent Panchayat Polls 2023, which resulted in the conflict among the prominent oppositions i.e., Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of the state. There are 21 Gram Panchayat (GP) seats in the Kukurjan region, in which, the TMC and BJP won 9 seats each in the elections. The Communist Party of India Marxist (CPIM) secured 3 seats.

According to reports, there must be a magic figure of 11 in the GP to establish the Board, which caused the CPIM to be deemed as a mature party. Following this, neither the TMC nor the BJP were successful in creating the aforementioned board. In the meantime, the state ruling opposition has become divided as a result of the CPIM’s new strategy to create the board.

In response, the Jalpaiguri District Secretary of CPIM, Moktal Hossain, stated that the oppositions are enemies of the party. Following this, the party raised a slogan that says, “Lootera der Hatiye, Janaganer Panchayat Gathan Karo” (get rid of looters and form people’s Panchayats). In addition, if the procedure rather than ideology is supported by other political parties, hence the board will be formed, or else the party will strongly stand aside.

Meanwhile, TMC Rajganj Block President Arindam (Bandyopadhay) Banerjee emphasized that the effort is being made on behalf of the party following the two-way traffic support provided by the opposition, mainly CPIM for the sake of development.
