Siliguri, 11th December: The Dabgram Range of the Forest Department has caught three people red-handed while smuggling teak wood from the forest. The accused have been identified as Mangalu Roy, Nimai Barman and Nitai Barman, all three residents of Farabari.
Forest personnel arrested the accused during patrolling on Friday midnight in the forest of Dabgram range area. Stolen wood has been recovered from the accused.
Speaking in this regard, ranger Shyam Prasad Chakladar of Dabgram range said that a case has been registered against the accused under the Forest Act. The three accused were produced in the Jalpaiguri District court today where the judge ordered them to be kept in judicial custody.
