Three members of Jamtara gang arrested in Siliguri, taken on transit remand

Siliguri, 04th July: Assam police along with Pradhan Nagar Police Station of Siliguri Metropolitan Police busted the Jharkhand-based Jamtara gang from their hideout in Siliguri. The arrested gang members have been identified as Mohammad Tamaiudali (29), Mustakin Mia (30), and Afzal Ansari (21), all residents of Jharkhand.


According to reports, on July 27, an ATM fraud occurred with an individual in Jamtara’s Assam, in which, 30 lakh rupees were looted within a short span of time. Subsequently, the matter was reported to the police station. An investigation was initiated by Assam police based on the complaint. As investigations progressed, police identified the miscreants and arrived in Siliguri by tracking their mobile tower locations. Upon arrival of Assam police in Siliguri, the accused were arrested in collaboration with Pradhan Nagar Police, from a hotel located in Siliguri Junction. On Friday, the accused were produced before the Siliguri Court and subsequently taken on transit remand by Assam Police.
