Three Bangladeshis arrested in Siliguri with gold bars worth Rs 84 lakh

Siliguri, 03rd January: The Customs officers arrested three Bangladeshis with 2 kilos of gold by conducting an operation in the Siliguri Junction area, last night. The value of the seized gold has been estimated to be 84 lakh rupees.


All the three accused arrested have been presented in the Siliguri court, today. As per the report from the Customs Department, the accused have been identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam, Mohammad Tafazal and Qazi Taniv. 18 pieces of gold bars have been recovered from their possession. According to sources, the three accused arrested were entering the Changrabandha border from Bangladesh.
