Alipurduar, 24th July: The police of Barobisha outpost of Kumargram police station during a routine checking on the Assam-Bengal border, recovered a huge quantity of illicit liquor from a pickup van, late Friday night. Three people were also arrested in connection with this incident.
According to police sources, the liquor was being transported under the guise of fodder. After interrogating the accused, it was disclosed that the illicit liquor was being taken from Barpeta in Assam to Alipurduar. The market value of the seized liquor is estimated to be Rs 3.5 lakh. Police have started an investigation of the incident.
