Siliguri, 14th July: A fresh attempted theft at Siliguri Bazar Post Office has created panic among employees. The incident took place on Monday night after miscreants allegedly tried to break open the door of the post office.
According to reports, a theft had taken place at the same post office around a week ago, during which several items were stolen. The latest attempt has raised concerns among the employees.
Following the incident, Siliguri Police were informed and an investigation has been initiated.
Post Office In-charge Mousumi Saha said that a theft had occurred at the post office a few days ago and police are already investigating the matter. She added that senior officials of the postal department have been informed about the situation.
Police have suggested bringing the post office under CCTV surveillance soon so that those involved in such incidents can be identified quickly.
