Rajganj, 21st March: The houses in the area of Jotiakali Chhath Pradhan Para were flooded with water after the Teesta Link Canal Dam broke its bank and inundated the houses and area with water. The incident occurred last Monday evening.
Reportedly, the locals came out of the house after hearing a sudden loud noise last evening and saw that the dam of the link canal had broken. In no time, water started entering the houses in the area.
In this regard, Fulbari- 2 Gram Panchayat Pradhan Dilip Roy said that he received the news last evening. Water entered the village due to the breakage of the link canal and was later stopped by closing the gate of the irrigation canal. The matter was then reported to the Irrigation Department. The Irrigation Department will further investigate the matter.
