‘Tab Scam’ Case: Paschim Medinipur police arrest two from Siliguri’s Matigara

Siliguri, 24th November: Two individuals were arrested from the Matigara area of Siliguri on Saturday night in connection with the Tab scam. The arrests were made by the Keshiary Police station of Paschim Medinipur from Lenin Colony in the Matigara area. The arrested individuals have been identified as Nazrul Islam and Ruksana Khatun, a couple who work as daily wage laborers.


According to reports, a significant sum of money linked to the scam was found in their bank accounts. However, the duo has claimed that they have no knowledge of how the money was deposited into their accounts. Police are investigating whether the duo knowingly allowed their bank accounts to be used to channel fraudulent funds.

Both individuals will be produced before the court in Siliguri on Sunday, after which they will be taken on transit remand to Paschim Medinipur for further investigation. Authorities are continuing their probe into the broader scope of the scam and whether more individuals are involved.
