Siliguri, 29th November: State LoP Suvendu Adhikari visited World Cup-winning cricketer Richa Ghosh’s home in Siliguri after arriving at Bagdogra airport from Kolkata on Saturday morning.
He was accompanied by Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh, Dabgram–Fulbari MLA Sikha Chatterjee and other BJP leaders. Adhikari handed Richa a bouquet, a gold chain and a cheque of ₹5 lakh, and spent time interacting with her along with the MP and MLAs.
Speaking to the media later, Adhikari said the state government had shown interest in building a stadium in Siliguri named after Richa Ghosh, which he welcomed.
He added that the government may not remain in power for long and also raised concerns about alleged deprivation and oppression in North Bengal, stating that BJP would end such neglect if elected.
