‘Students Unity Against Fee Hike’ submit memorandum to District School Inspector in demand to waive the fees

Siliguri, 08th July: A memorandum was submitted to the District School Inspector on behalf of ‘Students Unity Against Fee Hike’ on Thursday in demand of waiving school fees.

After the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, all educational institutions have been closed for over a year now. The students allege that despite the cancellation of the secondary and higher secondary examinations, the examination fee was not refunded. In this context, the students staged a protest in front of the District School Inspector’s office with placards in their hands. They demanded refund of the examination fees and waiving the school fees at the earliest.

Organization member Zakir Hussain said that at present many families are unemployed while the others are struggling to make ends meet due to the lockdown. In such a situation, it is not possible for many students to submit their school fees. On the other hand, District School Inspector Rajiv Pramanik said that the matter has been kept in cognizance and will be informed to the higher authorities.
